The tank model I made for the Red or Dead project. Again with hand painted textures like the helicopter model. I prefer this model to the helicopter model as I feel I learned quite a bit from the helicopter and was able to improve with this one. I think I’m beginning to enjoy modelling non-organic objects :)
Helicopter model I made for the Red or Dead project. The top image is the final render in the scene (done by Connor McKee), and the bottom two are the hand painted textures. We decided to use Surface Shaders for this model to keep in line with the toony look.
Hey y’all, brief update here! Been real busy with working on things. Mainly I’ve been working on a big project; I’ve joined a group called Pantheonyx to work on Timesplitters: Rewind as a 3D character modeller.
I’m not able to put any of my models up as of yet unfortunately but I should be able to at a later date!
So, what is Timesplitters? It was an old First Person Shooter series made by Free Radical back on the Playstation 2. Now I’m not a big fan of FPS games, but this series really jumped out at me because of its total wackiness. I’m so thrilled to be able to actually work on something Timesplitters and bring it back! Crytek now own the IP; however they have given us permission to make this game (which is based on the multiplayer modes of the first three games).
If you’re interested, there’s more info in this interview with the project manager, Michael Hubicka: http://cookingwithgrenades.com/9180/timesplitters-rewind/
I submitted these designs to Insomniac Games’ Outernauts design a beast contest and… as it turns out, I ACTUALLY WON. OMFG.
Here is a link to the interview I did with them: http://www.insomniacgames.com/outernauts-design-a-beast-winner/
So this is so cool, I actually…. completed part of my life dream! To contribute something to an Insomniac Game (he will be put into the game as a beast for people to own)! This is a huge dream of mine and I’m glad I finally managed to do it! Now all I need to do is get that internship there haha!
I will get a version of my beast when he is released in the game, and also a signed picture of him from the Insomniac team! Also 500 Star Gems (which is a premium currency used in the game).
Although of course now, all rights to the design belong to Insomniac Games so do not steal him or IG will do baaaad things to you!
A WIP of the anime scene I am working on as part of the group project for Uni. It is for a film my teacher, Derek Hayes is directing that is a mixture of live action footage and animated parts in different styles. These are my parts for the anime part- the backgrounds, and the design and animation of the main character.
Those effects in the beginning are super ugly but luckily, they shall be replaced by the wonderful work of Alex Papanicola :D He is also going to be animating the robots which you can currently see as blue sketch lines there. Heidi Orford shall be animating the explosions as the main character dude strikes the robots.
Programs used- Flash CS4, Photoshop CS5.
